Norway gives green light to world’s first ship tunnel

The Norwegian government has approved startup funds for the Stud Ship Tunnel, a $350 million engineering project designed to allow ships up to 16,000 tons to safely navigate the stormy Stud Hobbit Sea. The tunnel will be 33 meters high, 36 meters wide, and stretch 1.7 kilometers through the narrowest part of Norway's Stud Peninsula, from Bergen to Allison.
