Campus Party: The World's Biggest Computer Gaming Get Together

The Campus Party in Valencia, Spain, is a massive event for computer gaming enthusiasts, featuring 4500 participants, mostly Spanish, but increasingly international. The event offers non-stop gaming and fast file sharing, supported by extensive technical infrastructure, including 250 km of CAT5 cable and 10 km of optical fiber. Telefonica provided 15% of its national bandwidth, allowing data speeds 300 times faster than home connections. Despite the high-tech environment, only 400 of the 4500 attendees were female. The cost for participation, including accommodation and food, was €120.
