Alcohol, produced by yeast fermentation, is recognized as a toxin by animals, yet humans consume it. The short-term effects on the brain are well-known, but long-term consumption can lead to severe health issues, including liver cirrhosis, pancreatitis, and increased infection risk. Alcohol can cause weight gain and gynecomastia in men. It severely damages the liver, leading to cirrhosis, and can inflame the pancreas, reducing life expectancy. Despite its natural avoidance by animals, humans face significant long-term consequences from alcohol consumption.
