VOICED : Indigenas de Colombia denuncian violacion de derechos pese a paz

Colombian indigenous communities continue to face rights violations despite the peace agreement with FARC. Their territories are contested by paramilitaries, ELN, military, FARC dissidents, drug traffickers, and multinationals. These groups contribute to selective killings, displacements, threats, disappearances, land dispossession, landmine victims, and forced recruitment. The situation remains dire, requiring reinforced measures to protect indigenous autonomy and governance. The issue was highlighted on the UN's International Day of Indigenous Peoples, acknowledging progress but emphasizing ongoing challenges. Over 190,000 indigenous people are direct victims of the armed conflict, which has resulted in numerous deaths, disappearances, and over 7 million displaced individuals.
