Breakthrough in Cancer Treatment: The Bystander Effect and the Particle Microbeam

The Middlesex Institute has developed a particle microbeam that targets cancer cells, killing them and causing nearby non-exposed cells to die through the bystander effect. An updated microbeam version is 100 times more effective, and a third-generation unit is under construction, using higher energy X-rays for deeper penetration.
