Afghanistan is a landlocked, mineral-rich country in Central Asia, bordered by several countries including Pakistan, Iran, and China. It has a diverse population with Pashtuns as the largest ethnic group. The country is predominantly Muslim, with a majority practicing Sunni Islam. Kabul is the capital and largest city. Most of the population lives in rural areas, engaging in farming and livestock grazing. Due to poverty, poppy cultivation for opium is common, leading to drug addiction and corruption. Education is limited, especially for women. Afghanistan's geography includes mountains and deserts, with a continental climate. The Taliban continues to fight for control, and the country faces challenges from drought and deforestation.
