Forbes: 400 Richest Americans Less Wealthy In 2022 Due To Inflation

Forbes magazine reports that the 400 richest Americans collectively lost money for the first time since 2009, yet they still hold $4 trillion in wealth. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has overtaken Jeff Bezos as the richest person in America, largely due to Tesla's stock performance. Mark Zuckerberg, however, has fallen out of the top ten, losing $76 billion, reflecting a tough year for tech companies post-pandemic. Despite these losses, the majority of the Forbes 400 are self-made, with a small increase in female representation. Julia Koch is the highest-ranked woman on the list.
