Shanghai reports an increase in COVID-19 deaths, with seven victims aged 60 to 101, all having pre-existing health conditions. The city also recorded 20,000 new mostly asymptomatic cases. Less than two-thirds of residents over 60 have received two vaccine doses, and under 40% have had a booster. Most of Shanghai's 25 million residents have been confined at home since March due to rising cases.
