The Argentine Congress approved a law to establish a new intelligence agency, the Federal Intelligence Agency, following the death of prosecutor Alberto Nisman. Nisman had accused President Cristina Kirchner and others of covering up for former Iranian officials involved in the 1994 AMIA bombing. His mysterious death led to criticism of the current intelligence agency, which will be dissolved under the new law. The reforms include clearer limits on espionage activities and a 15-year maximum for declassifying files.
