In early 1945, Franklin D. Roosevelt was inaugurated for his fourth term as U.S. President. He soon attended the Yalta Conference with Stalin and Churchill to discuss the end of WWII. Roosevelt's death in April was a global shock. Harry S. Truman succeeded him, facing the challenge of leading the nation to victory. On May 7th, Germany surrendered, marking the end of WWII in Europe.
