VOICED : Corte Interamericana falla contra liberación del expresidente peruano Fujimori

The Inter-American Court of Human Rights has issued a resolution urging Peru to refrain from executing a court decision that would allow the release of former President Alberto Fujimori. Fujimori, who served as Peru's president from 1990 to 2000, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for crimes against humanity after being extradited from Chile in 2007. In March, Peru's Constitutional Court reinstated a controversial pardon granted to Fujimori by former President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski in 2017, which had been annulled 10 months later. Families of the victims, who suffered severe human rights violations, have appealed to the Inter-American Court to prevent Fujimori's early release.
