Asteroid - Rocky Objects in Space

Asteroids orbit the Sun in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. They vary in size, with the largest being hundreds of kilometers wide, and are sometimes referred to as minor planets or planetoids. There are millions of small asteroids, believed to be leftover material from the time when planets formed.
