The United States Senate voted overwhelmingly in favor of NATO membership for two Nordic countries, with only one dissenting vote from Republican Josh Hawley. More than half of NATO members have ratified the additions, but Turkey has yet to vote. The two nations applied for membership in May and received agreement from all member nations by July. All 30 member countries must ratify the additions for them to be official.
