As of Thursday, global COVID-19 cases surpassed 5 million, with 70% in Europe and the USA. Over 328,000 deaths have occurred since the virus emerged in China in December. Cases doubled in a month, with a significant rise in Latin America, especially Brazil, Peru, Mexico, and Chile. Meanwhile, Europe is slowly returning to normal, with Spain mandating masks in public for those over six. The state of alarm in Spain is extended until June 6.
