Evelyn Matei was announced as the presidential candidate for Chile's center-right parties, supported by Renovación Nacional. She is the first woman to represent the center-right in a presidential election, replacing Pablo Longueira. Matei accepted her candidacy with humility and conviction. The upcoming election will see her competing against socialist candidate and former president Michelle Bachelet, who is currently favored.
