U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings Dies At Age 68

Elijah Cummings, a Democratic lawmaker from Maryland, passed away at 68 due to health complications. He had a long political career, serving in the US House of Representatives since 1996. Cummings chaired the Congressional Black Caucus and the House Oversight and Reform Committee. Before his congressional career, he served in the Maryland House of Delegates and was the state's first black speaker pro tempore. He is survived by his wife and three children.
