Asteroid 2001 FO32, classified as potentially hazardous by NASA, will pass Earth on March 21st. It travels at 124,000 km/h and is between 0.767 to 1.714 km in diameter, larger than 97% of asteroids. Its orbit is highly elliptical, coming as close as 0.3 AU to the sun. It will pass Earth at 1.2 million miles, over five times the distance to the moon. Discovered in 2001 by the Lincoln Near Earth Asteroid Research program, it is funded by NASA and the US Air Force.
