It was no wonder, then, that when her mother challenged her to jump off the high diving board, Sally's heart dropped. If one thing trumped Sally's fear of heights, though, it was her stubbornness. If her mother challenged her, she would do it.
Sally Bright was always up for a challenge. She never turned down a dare, making her one of the most popular kids on her block. People were always daring her to do crazy things, like knocking on people's doors and running, climbing up electrical poles, and chasing birds. Sally loved the thrill of all of these challenges.
