Take actions to ensure all crew return safely to the vehicle. Are learners moving towards vehicle

Transmit EMERGENCY MESSAGE via radio. Highest Ranked or experienced Fire fighter to transmit message. Message MUST include: E= Emergency Emergency Emergency (Emergency said 3 times) S= Situation (We are going to be overrun by fire 2 people onboard) L=Location. Where are you? A= Assistance required V= Vehicle Radio Number (Big Black letters on bonnet or roof is the Vehicle radio number) E= Emergency Example- Emergency, Emergency, Emergency We are going to be overrun by fire. We are on the Northern end of Alpha Sector on the Ridge Fire Trail at the Smokey Beach Fire. Assistance required. Vehicle 5490.

Cease all operations. Leave live reel branches/nozzles slightly open to de-pressure line Leave hoses on the ground Leave all non-essential equipment where it is.

Return to the vehicle immediately. Discus if movement to safety refugee is a viable option. Start Pump if not already on. Turn on Red Flashing beacons.

Don full PPE - jacket, flash hood, goggles, helmet and have smoke mask and gloves immediately available.

Confirm all crew are present. (Crew leader or most experienced Firefighter)

Deploy BACK (or side/back*) radiant heat curtain. Move seats forward to deploy heat shield curtains. Place stowed fire blanket on the floor in front of the seat.

Push back seats to maximise cabin space.

Remove all loose objects from the dashboard, phone holder from windscreen and any non-essential items.
