While Donald Trump did compliment Brigitte ('you're in such great shape'), he is alleged to have confused Justin Trudeau's wife with the New Zealand PM (Jacinda Ardern), so that's not the answer.

Putin was one of the first to congratulate Trump, French President Hollande congratulated Trump, but warned “This American election opens a period of uncertainty.”

Macron called a snap election, whcih will have its second round of voting on July 7, and looks likely to lose. Canadian national elections are not due until October 2025, although Trudeau faces demands that he resign and is increasingly unpopular.

Both Trudeau & Macron had studied and prepared - and thus beat - Trump's macho handshake tactic. Trudeau by grabbing Trump's arm, and Macron, more decisively, by out-Trumping Trump and refusing to let go first while maintaining eye contact. Trump broke off both before Macron. This went down well in Europe!
