What is a force out?

• When a runner is tagged with the ball

• When a runner is hit by the ball

• When there are runners filling all preceding bases

• When a runner leaves the base before the ball is touched

When does a force out always apply?

• At 2nd base

• At 3rd base

• At home base

• At 1st base

What happens when a force out does not apply?

• The runner is automatically safe

• The runner must be tagged with the ball

• The runner can advance to the next base

• The runner is out if they leave the base

What must a runner do on a ball in the air before advancing to the next base?

• Run immediately to the next base

• Be on the base when the ball is touched by a fielder or hits the ground

• Leave the base before the ball is touched

• Ignore the ball and run

What is runner interference?

• When a runner leaves the base before the ball is touched

• When a runner makes contact with a fielder attempting to field a ball

• When a runner runs more than 3 feet outside of the basepath

• When a runner is hit by the ball

What is fielder interference?

• When a fielder makes contact with a runner in the basepath

• When a fielder throws the ball to the wrong base

• When a fielder catches the ball

• When a fielder runs outside the basepath

How far is a runner allowed to run outside of the basepath to avoid being tagged?

• 1 foot

• 2 feet

What happens if a runner gets hit with a ball directly off the bat?

• The play continues

• The runner is safe

• The runner advances to the next base

What should all runners do if there are two outs?

• Wait for the ball to be touched

• Run as soon as the ball is hit no matter what

• Stay on their base

• Run only if the ball is on the ground
