MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION

Read the passage and answer the questions. The Missing Puzzle Piece Lila's heart felt like a deflated balloon. Her best friend, Maya, had just moved away to a city hundreds of miles away. They had been inseparable since kindergarten, giggling over shared secrets and building sandcastles that rivalled fortresses. Now, Lila's world felt incomplete, a puzzle with a missing piece. Seeking solace, Lila trudged to her grandmother's cozy cottage. The scent of freshly baked cookies and the comforting creak of the rocking chair greeted her. Tears welled up as she poured out her heart, her voice thick with emotion. Grandma listened patiently, her kind eyes mirroring Lila's pain. When Lila finished, Grandma took her hand, her touch warm and reassuring. "It's natural to feel sad, my dear," she said softly. "Change can be hard, especially when it takes someone we love far away." Lila sniffled, wiping her tears on the sleeve of her sweater. "But everything feels different without Maya," she mumbled. "Will we ever be as close again?" Grandma smiled gently. "Distance doesn't diminish true friendship," she assured her. "Remember the stories I told you about your grandfather and his best friend who lived across the sea? They wrote letters, shared silly jokes, and even sent each other small gifts to remember their bond." Lila perked up slightly. "They did?" "Indeed," Grandma continued. "Technology can help bridge the gap these days. You can video chat, send funny messages, and even play online games together. Distance might shrink the physical space, but it can't shrink the connection you share." Grandma then reached into a drawer and pulled out a beautifully painted seashell. "Hold this," she said, placing it in Lila's hand. "Whenever you miss Maya, hold this shell close and remember our talk. Imagine it carrying your love and friendship across the miles to her." Lila held the shell tightly, its smooth surface offering a strange comfort. A small spark of hope flickered within her. Maybe, just maybe, Grandma was right. Distance didn't have to be the end. 1. Why is Lila feeling sad?

She lost her favourite toy.

Her family is moving.

Her best friend moved away.
