The route through the mountains is very difficult to navigate and only ten pilots know how to! The Tourism Council of Bhutan is training cooks and guides in cultural and trek tourism, both of which are popular. However, the government wants to prevent mass tourism so visitors have to pay a tourism tax of $165 to $200 per day.
