Nehemiah Ch. 3&4

In Chapter 3, Gives an account of the names of the builders of Jerusalem, which are recorded to their

honor, for they showed a great love and courage for God and their country, and what they did was fit to

be registered, for their praise and for the encouragement of others to follow their example. Work was

divided, and everyone knew what he had to do, with one spirit and no separate interest.

In Chapter 4, good work will not continue without obstacles, but Nehemiah took the needed

precautions to continue the work. Their enemies mocked their work in rebuilding Jerusalem, but they

answered with prayers. Their enemies formed a war against their work, but to guard against this,

Nehemiah prayed and set guards, encouraged them to defend, so the work was carried on with all

needful precaution. In all this, Nehemiah approved himself a man of great wisdom and courage.
