NCERT launched this body to remove disparities in student scores across state boards.

It is in line with NEP 2020 which envisaged a standard-setting body to advise school boards on new assessment patterns, latest research and promote collaborations between them.

Such a body will also enable the creation of equitable systems of assessment for children with learning disabilities.
