What is bullying?

• Bullying is an ongoing or repeated misuse of power in relationships, with the intention to cause deliberate harm. Bullying behaviours can be verbal, physical or social.

What is cyberbullying?

• Cyberbullying is not bullying.

• Cyberbullying is using technology to make friends.

• Cyberbullying is using technology to bully or hurt someone else.

Someone has shared a photo of a friend on Facebook. People in your school are writing hurtful comments. What do you do?

• Seek help from a trusted adult or Kids Helpline.

• Share the post.

• Do nothing.

A friend has shared a photo of you falling down the stairs on Facebook. Your friends in class think it's funny and are laughing and liking the photo on Facebook. You do not feel comfortable. What do you do?

• Ignore it.

• Tell your friend you are upset about the post and ask them to take it down.

Someone has shared a photo from your friends profile in a private chat group. People are saying mean things about the photo but your friend can't see. Is this cyberbullying?

• No, because your friend can't see the comments in the group chat.

• Yes, because technology is being used to make fun of someone, even if they can't see the post.

• Yes, but it doesn't matter because your friend can't see the comments.

You shared a video on SnapChat and it has upset your friend. What do you do?

• Do it again.

• Listen to your friend, reflect on your behaviour and consider others before you share a video online next time.

You took a video of your friends on the weekend. Your friend who is in the video asks you not to share the video. What do you do?
