RAINY WEATHER (Part 1)

It was ten o'clock in the morning and Mark was having trouble paying attention to the teacher. He looked out the window and saw a beautiful spring morning. The sun was bright, the grass was green and the birds were flying around and singing pretty songs. It looked wonderful outside Mark imagined himself paying in the grass. You may have seen many trees in your life. But, have you ever seen one that is a strange shape? Some trees are grown to look like arrows or signs. Many of these trees were grown by Native Americans. In the days before maps, the people used trees to mark their land. They planted a tree. Then they bent the branches in a certain way.

WHISTLES

When it was born it was only about as big as a person's thumb.
