Structures of the Eyes

Projections of stiff hair curving outward along the margins of the eyelids that filter dust and dirt from air entering the eye

Consist of two movable structures composed of the skin and muscles

The two types of muscle in the eyelids

• striated

• smooth

• palpebral

• bulbar

• rough

Its function is to protect the eyes from foreign bodies and limit the amount of light entering the eye.

Serve to distribute tears that lubricate the surface of the eye.

The angle or point where the upper and lower eyelids meet

A dense, protective, white covering that physically supports the internal structures of the eye.
