A message from God given through a human being. Sometimes these messages simply told people what God wanted them to know. Other times God would tell what was going to happen before it happened. Then when it happened, people of faith would know God had truly spoken. The test of a true one was whether it came true as predicted. Some of these types of messages took hundreds of years before they came true.
