What is DAT and who can we find there?

• Dial-A-Truck. A platform that matches trucks with loads and vice versa. We can only find brokers and carriers.

• Delivered At Terminal. We can find loads that are delivered at terminals for international shipping purposes.

• Department of Anti-Trafficking. A federal institution created with the sole purpose of preventing smuggling and illegal trade.

• Distance Away from Truck. Refers to the number of miles that exist between a shipper and a scheduled driver about to get loaded.

What factors make a load more attractive for a carrier?

• Time Sensitive, Heavy Weight, Weekend Delivery, Evening Pickup

• Driver Assist, Short Distance, Light Weight, Afternoon Pickup

What are things to AVOID when booking a load?

• Send the rate confirmation immediately.

• Having more than one option to cover a shipment.

When coming to an agreement with the carrier in regards to the amount to pay for the service of moving the load, what document is sent by the broker?

• Bill of Lading
