Why does Mr. Meier care so much about the subject line of student emails to him?

• He is a maniacal control freak who has the sense of humor of a six year old.

• Specific subject lines are good practice.

• He is weird; very, very, unsettlingly, weird.

Why does Mr. Meier care so much about the subject line of student emails to him?

• He has 260ish students, so including your class period saves him the time spent searching students on Aeries... which may have to be done on Saturdays and Sundays. Mr. Meier's family misses him.

• Every subject line in the world should include a number; it's a pet peeve. Numbers are very important, especially when doing maths. Maths would be very difficult to learn with no numbers. Numbers make me giggle.

• Mr. Meier wants to bury his students in busywork.

• His dog, Rorschach, loves numbers.

• The 49ers lost and he still is crying inside.

• Writing the specific name of the assignment you are emailing about in the subject line, is 1/2 of preventing his having to do an investigation into what it is you are emailing about.

  The other half is including your class period.

• Mr. Meier cannot forget his English teacher roots, so he wants to remind all you students to capitalize proper names (of assignments).
