2nd Samuel 1&2

Meditation verse 2 Samuel chapters 1&2:

In chapter 1 we learn about an Amalekite lad who came thinking he will bring good news to David and he lied claiming that he killed Saul the Lord’s anointed.

He expected a reward, but he was punished instead. David lamented Saul, Jonathan, and all the people.

In chapter 2 we learn about when David anointed king of Judah, how David praised the men of Jabeth Gilead for burying Saul. We also read about how

Abner killed Asahel. In chapter 1 verse 19 David was so sad about the death of Saul his enemy, and he wrote a lamentation over him. We learn not to be happy if something bad happened to the people we don’t like!! Instead, we should pray for them because we all need God’s mercy.
