Ethics, Integrity and Fair play

How could you define ethics?

• A way to justify anything you choose to do

• a system of accepted rules about behaviour, based on what is considered right and wrong

• Doing what your parents or teachers tell you

To have "integrity" means...

• You don't tell on a mate, no matter how bad a thing they have done

• To believe that everything you do is right

• To do what what you know to be right, even if you aren't going to be recognised for it

What makes an ethical dilemma different to your usual problem?

• Because there is more than one problem to solve

• Because someone will get hurt by the decision

• Because there is no clear cut "right" or "wrong"

• Because you may have to do something that you don't want to

What does the phrase "one person's terrorist is another person's freedom fighter" mean?

• That what is right and wrong can sometimes be about perspective
