• before Yaakov passed away, he said his name should not be mentioned in connection with this rebellion [he could see the future]

• Because they were Korach’s neighbours, so he had an effect on them

• They were Korach's cousins so they joined the family cause

• He was from the 2nd son of Kehos, and Moshe/Aharon were from the 1st son. They became leaders, but then the son of the 4th son became chief of the family. Korach thought that was unfair

• He was rich and had a lot of time and money on his hands, so he decided to make a rebellion for entertainment
