Academic Support: Roles and Responsibilities

Academic Support is NOT a:

A mentors role is to:

• be another teacher and tell others what to do

• take role and monitor chat

• lead by example and support those in their group

• create goals for the mentees on things they think need done

A mentees role is to:

• participate as often as possible

• create goals and plans that will help them get where they want and need

• advocate (reach out and get what they need) for themselves

• remember we are here to do better and be better

A TA is here to help:

• be the eyes and ears for Ms. Evans and keep her informed of things

• slack off and do nothing

• take charge of chat and tell everyone what to do
