What does 'still life' mean in art?

• A person who is still

• Anything to do with being still

• A painting or drawing of an arrangement of objects

• Lots of the same objects arranged in a line

To make a still life arrangement visually more interesting an artist uses.......to help with the composition.

• Overlapping

• Stacking

• Separated

• Repeated

To make the objects appear as a 3D form what must we show?

• Colour.

• Solids and texture.

• The light affecting the object showing lights, mids and dark areas. (Value scale)

• Including the shadows and highlights.

What does mixed media mean in art?

• Combining movies and adverts and printing out the still images from them.

• Pencil or ink drawing only.

• More than one medium being used in art so it can be painting and magazine images, drawing, ink and watercolor for example.

• Painting with a palette knife not a paintbrush.

What does the word media or medium mean in art?

• Art by a psychic person

• A medium means to the materials that are used to create a work of art. Media means more than one.

• Using charcoal to draw and shade.

• Using your hands to paint with instead of a paintbrush.
