When the first little Caleb was lost in the river, the entire community-

The Chief Elder shared a recollection (memory) of Asher's childhood. "'...we even gave a little thought to some retroactive chastisement for the one who had been Asher's Instructor of Threes so long ago." Why was chastisement considered?
