Test Taking Strategies

The extended response question is.....

• a writing task based on a passage they will give you to read.
• a written response that should contain 4-5 paragraphs minimum
• a task that may require you to write in any of the genres we've practiced.

If you feel stuck on a particular question you should....

• skip the question and move on; come back later if you have time
• make an educated guess and mark the item in your booklet; then come back if you have time

Why is it a good idea to make an educated guess on a question instead of skipping it entirely?
