Transitions that Create Sequence

Once, there was a lady from Kashmere who wanted to change the world. She wanted everyone to believe in the power of hard work, effort, and compassion. Eventually, she decided the best way to do this was by becoming a teacher. So, one day, she went to college and later graduated. She taught in many grades, then came to fourth grade to help a special group of kids who reminded her of what she was like at that age. She was so excited, but then things changed. Not just her grade level, but new power. Although scared, she persisted and stayed for a special group of kids. In the end, she chose to stay and give her best to the kids who needed it most.

Transitions that Connect Ideas

Teachers and researchers have looked into the impact that reading has on student success for decades. One reason is to see if reading success in primary grades has an impact on success later on in life. Most agree that reading and later life success go hand in hand. Likewise, they also believe that starting to read early on in life helps develop reading skills as you grow. However, those that are not exposed to a variety of reading experiences at a young age show struggles with reading and success as they grow. So, to combat this, teachers must expose students to as many literary opportunities as possible.
