Evidence - Information or facts that support a belief or idea.
Claim - A statement that something is true. (what is the author trying to convey/teach/convince the audience of?)
Explanatory Text - Writing that helps explain or give details about something.
Anecdote - A short, personal story or example used to make a point.
Allusion - A reference to something well-known, like a person, event, or work of art.
Sequential - when the passage tells a story in the order in which it happened.
Euphemism - (noun) A mild or less direct way of saying something that might be harsh or unpleasant.
Precise -Being exact, clear, and accurate, with no mistakes or generalities.

Debate - A discussion or argument where two or more people express different opinions on a topic, trying to convince others of their point of view.
Active Listening - Paying full attention to someone when they are speaking, understanding their message, and showing that you are listening by nodding or responding appropriately.
Justification - A good reason or explanation for why something is done, believed, or said.
Reasoning - The process of thinking carefully about something and using facts or evidence to support an opinion or decision.
Counterclaim - An argument made to oppose or challenge another person's claim or point of view in a debate or discussion.
Collegial Discussion - exchange of ideas that leads to a deeper, understanding.
