Labelling
When you have exponents stacked on each other with parenthesis, you must MULTIPLY YOUR EXPONENTS
5
Labelling
When you have an exponent on the outside of parentheses... you must apply that exponent to every term inside the parentheses.
6
Labelling
In the left column, you have an expression.
Use the column on the right to put the expanded form of each expression as shown in the first row.
7
Labelling
You have the expanded forms for each expression. Select another expression that is equivalent to that form and put it in the right column like you see in the top row.
8
Draw
Remember, when you multiply two terms with the same base, you ADD your exponents, but... don't forget to multiply your coefficients!!
9
Draw
When you have an exponent on the outside of parenthesis... you must apply that exponent to every term inside the parenthesis.
10
Labelling
When you have similar bases with exponents, but they are in a FRACTION... you must SUBTRACT YOUR EXPONENTS.
This is called the Quotient Rule.
Place the expanded form in the middle column and an equivalent expression in the right column.
11
Math Response
