Evaluating Mr. Costello's Persuasive Speech

Purposes

Content

• To assess Mr. Costello's speech and determine how to perform a self-assessment.

• To reflect on the importance of self-assessment.​

I identify two main problems in my speech: malnutrition (caused largely by consuming too much sugar and not enough vegetables) and chronic diseases.

My solution is for people to become "MyPlate Champions"​

Advertisements for unhealthy foods are an underlying issue that contributes to malnutrition.​

My alternative solutions include investing in the school garden, putting posters in the cafeteria, and regulating advertisements for children.​

I clearly label the introduction and conclusion of my speech.
