Thanksgiving: a holiday held on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States. It is a day of feasting and giving thanks.
During the Thanksgiving holiday, people often celebrate by remembering the things they are grateful for now.

The practice of slavery was abolished in the United States, and it is now illegal to own another human being.

A member of any of the first groups of people to live in North and South America and especially in the United States.

One of the group of settlers who traveled from England to America and landed in Massachusetts in 1620.
The Pilgrim traveled to the New World in order to settle into a new life and practice her religion freely.
