Repasemos algunos conceptos acerca del alfabeto español

​Let's review some facts about the Spanish alphabet.

1) El alfabeto en Español tiene 27 letras​

The Spanish alphabet has 27 letters. ​

2) De las 27 letras del alfabeto español, 22 son consonantes​

​Of the 27 letters, 22 are consonants

3) De las 27 letras, cinco son vocales.

Las vocales son: a, e, i, o, u

​Of the 27 letters, five are vowels; a, e, i, o, u

4.) Sólo las vocales llevan acento (á, é, í, ó, ú)​

Only vowels have accents​ (á, é, í, ó, ú)

5) En 2010 la Real Academia Española de la Lengua (RAE), removió las letras ch, ll y rr como letras individuales. ​

​In 2010 the Real Acaddemia Española de la Lengua" (RAE), removed the letters ch, ll, & rr as separate entries from the Spanish alphabet.

6) Las letras ch, ll y rr se consideran dígrafos o grafemas​ o combinacion de dos letras que representan un fonema o unidad de sonido.

​The letters ch, ll, and rr are considered dígrafos o grafemas; two letters that represent one phoneme or unit of sound.

7) El alfabeto en Español es similar al alfabeto en ingles. Con la excepción de la letra Ñ. Esta letra se necesita para escribir palabras como piña, niña, cañón, piñata. ​

​The Spanish alphabet is similar to the English alphabet. The letter Ñ is the exception. This letter is used to write words such as piña, niña, cañón, piñata
