• To separate fact from fiction and discuss creative license

• To independently embark on a primary analysis of the song, creating and engaging in our own Socratic discussion.

Fact vs. Fiction

• Angelica Schuyler was already married with children when she met Hamilton.

• They DID have a very flirtatious relationship in writing, discussing deep ideas, dreams, desires, etc.

• Angelica actually had three brothers and had no obligation to marry rich, aside her father's preferences. In fact she eloped.

• The women WERE socialites of the highest order in New York and Europe.

• Eliza scribed for Hamilton often - many of his works are in her hand. She spent the her life working for their joint causes.

• Eliza and Angelica did joke about "sharing" him but there is no evidence of a physical affair; rather a close, yet flirtatious relationship.
