Where is the Rio Negro?
The Rio Negro is a freshwater river found in South America.
Rio Negro means Black River. The dark color comes from humic acid, which is created when some plants that grow in sandy clearings don't break down fully.
Remember, freshwater ecosystems DO NOT have salt.
