 \parallel  Define parallel

3

What is a parallelogram?

  • A parallelogram is a quadrilateral (four-sided) polygon created by 2 pairs of intersecting parallel lines

  • Vocab breakdown:

  • Parallelogram is a fusion of parallel and the ending -gram

  • Parallel - lines that have the same slope in a plane

  • -gram is a fairly common suffix that usually indicates writing and language (such as program and telegram), or drawing (such as diagram and histogram)

  • This is NOT to be confused with the measure of mass, gram, that is the root for words like kilogram

4

Multiple Select

What is a parallelogram?

1

A set of parallel lines that weigh one gram (metric)

2

A four-sided polygon whose opposite sides are parallel

3

A golf derivative that substitutes the common delicious cracker for the club

What is the measure of \angle B in degrees (don't include the degree symbol)?

13

Multiple Choice

Which pair of angles is supplementary?

1

45° + 45°

2

90° + 100°

3

50°

4

130° + 50°

14

Adjacent Angles are Supplementary

 \angle C\ +\ \angle D\ =\ 180\degree

 \angle C\ +\ \angle B\ =\ 180\degree
 A + B = 180°\angle A\ +\ \angle B\ =\ 180\degree
 A + D = 180°\angle A\ +\ \angle D\ =\ 180\degree
