Connecting Sentences and Paraphrases

This is to help you practice transitioning words and sentences

Open Ended

Brainstorm and type a list of transition words and phrases. Example: also, first, second, therefore, next . . .

Open Ended

Choose the transition word for each numbered space. Type out the passage with the transition words, then read it out loud.

Follow the directions, and then rewrite the passage using the selected transition words.

Using the instruction section and the box of transition words write out the directions in a paragraph format, using full sentences.

Add slide in your nonfiction writing journal and try to write a transition from one paraphrase to one with a similar focus or topic.
