Tone Analysis

In the first sentence, the author says that Mr. Rooney "squawks" and he's sitting in a dark office at a desk inlaid with "gold vultures."


Courtney offers to improve Rooney's text to "snare" more customers. These words give a sense of aggression.


Then, Rooney squawks again and leaves quickly, implied by the phrase "he flew his Roost."


All these words and phrases work together to create a tone of aggression and urgency.
