Verb Moods

  • Imperative (“!”): Something is a command or request; usually has an exclamation mark

  • Indicative (“.”): Sentence is indicating something; uses a period

  • Interrogative (“?”): Sentence is interrogating, asking a question; has question mark

  • Subjunctive (“.”): Sentence expressing a demand , wish, suggestion, or a hypothetical situation; uses a period

  • Conditional (“.”): Sentence is based on if something happens, then something else will; uses a period
